Using (Used?) Books For Political Statements: A Bookstore in Li'l London Protests the Proroguing Parliament

I really miss the used bookstore scene of London, ON.  For all the abuse the city takes for its Ugg-centered social scene and lack of cultural amenities, I always thought Li'l London featured lots of great, quirky bookstores.  Attic Books on Dundas was one of my faves…and though I didn't need it, here's another reason to like them.

  1. Thanks for the headzup on this story. Agree about the Ugg-scene issue. But lack of cultural amenities???? Say what?

  2. Partly because of the proximity to Toronto and partly because of the demographics of the city, I think there was a sentiment among some of the people I knew who were longer term London residents that the arts & culture scene in London wasn't up to snuff.
I'm mostly remembering complaints about the music & writing scene and am not sure if this extended to areas like theatre, the visual arts, film, etc.
I freely admit that may have been a bit of a cheap shot as I didn't really get a chance to get out to explore these areas in any great detail for myself (I was pretty attuned to the writing scene having just come out of the publishing world and did find it somewhat lacking compared to what I was used to here.)
