I'm creating a playlist of songs that have some connection to SW Ontario, preferably by specific name checks of locations in the title of the song but also by subject matter, artist residency or other similar factors.
Here's what I've got so far…
“Linda, Put the Coffee On” – Ray Materick
“Tillsonburg” – Stompin' Tom Connors
“Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” – Gordon Lightfoot
“Justice in Ontario” – Steve Earle
“Oxford County Line” – Fred Eaglesmith
It's a pretty folkie list but I welcome any suggestions in any genre. You can respond in the comments section or by direct e-mail.
Classmate of the Day: Linda Bussiere for passing along some muffins today. A welcome treat!

I would also add Bobcaygeon by the Tragically Hip to this list.
Awesome call. Can't believe I missed it. Great video by the way!

Here's a few more:
Old South London – Uisce Beathe (Voice of the Voyager)
November in Ontario – Skydiggers (Desmond's Hip City)
Ontario – Posies (Amazing Disgrace – I think they mean our Ontario [and not Ontario, CA] because they make a reference to “big birds flying over head”, which is lyric from the next song on my list)
Helpless – Crosby, Stills, Nash andl Young (Deja Vu – okay, so it is about northern Ontario, but if you are putting Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on the list, then this fits as well)

Somebody wrote me off-blog to say that I couldn't count Bobcaygeon but hey, I'm pretty loose in my definition of “SW Ontario” so I'll take it and “Helpless” too!
I didn't know Uisce Beatha were from London. I used to *love* them when I was in undergrad. One of my favourite St. Patrick's Days I don't remember involved them, a small cozy pub by the University of Regina called The Blarney Stone and a 1pm start time to make sure my friends and I got a seat for their 9pm show!
Did you know you can find their albums online, ready to download, courtesy of Western radio's London Music Archive?
