A Couple 9/11 Links

I’m reading a book about the differences between generations and one of the points is that each generation has a defining major moment that impacts them.

But there are also surveys that indicate that 9/11 is the one major historical event that crosses generations in its impact up to and including people who weren’t even alive at the time or who were very young.

    • MetaFilter’s 9/11 Thread allows you to relive the day in real time and served as a social media outlet long before social media existed.
    • Haunting items recovered from Ground Zero:

“I’m not courageous, I’m just surrounded by cowards.”

I hope Kamala wipes the floor with Trump tonight…

Music Monday – “Many people coming from miles around/To see you play hockey when the sun go down/Maybe someday your name will be in lights/Saying Johnny B. Goode tonight”

Secular Sunday – What Could Possibly Be The Cause of So Much ***GUN*** Violence In The United States?

Lack of morality?  Toxic masculinity?  Violent video games?  Mental health issues?  Dark state mind control programs?  Taking “Christ” out of Christmas?  Incels?  Income inequality?  Pro wrestling?  Chemtrails?  Porn addiction? Racism?  Sexism?  Socialism?  Satanism?  Bagism?

What, oh what, could it be that causes so much gun violence in the United States  compared to anywhere else in the world?

Saturday Snap – Oasis Reunion Tour Incoming (Did You Know Noel and Liam Have a Third Brother?)

After years of fighting and estrangement, Oasis is finally having a reunion tour!

I’m excited even though I’m closer to that fatter, older, unknown Oasis brother! 😉

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Happy Appointversary To Me

My first day at RPL was September 8, 2008 but I never realised I was officially appointed to the position on September 5, 2008 so happy 16th appointversary to me!

What Does Dementia Feel Like?

Virtual Reality attempts to give caregivers a simulation of what dementia feels like.

(On a completely unrelated note, after spending some time in a car killing time with my dementia-suffering mother while dad was in a medical appointment, I feel like I have direct insight into Donald Trump’s speech patterns!)

Ketchup Post – Long Weekend/End of Camping Edition

Hopefully my posting is (mostly) back to regular now that we’re packed up our campsite for the season.  Once again, instead of retroactively backdating posts for the days I missed, it’s easier to just do it in a single catch-up post…

Throwback Thursday – First Day of Kindergarten
Hard to believe Pace starts Grade 12 next week!

Friday Fun Link – Johnny Gaudreau Top 10 Career Highlights
Such shocking sad news about Johnny Gaudreau and his brother being killed by a drunk driver while out cycling.  Even more tragic, they were together for their sister’s wedding which was the next day.  Plus Johnny Hockey just had his second child giving him and his wife two under two.  while his brother’s wife was pregnant with their first.  Just horrible all around.

Saturday Snap – Back to School
My dad had two kids – my sister and myself – but always joked that he wanted four kids – twin boys and twin girls.

This isn’t quite that but our family has grown over the past couple years from a boy and a girl to two boys (Pace and our dog Charlie) and two girls (Sasha and now, Pace’s girlfriend Ashlynn.)
