Ellen Degeneres arranged a “spontaneous” selfie with some heavy hitters at the recent Oscar telecast. After tweeting it, it quickly crashed Twitter, became the most re-tweeted photo of all-time eclipsing Obama’s “Four More Years” tweet many times over, and becoming ripe for parody.
So here’s the image once again – my favourite wedding picture (well, not counting the more spontaneous one of Shea running out of the water just as a wave hits while I stand there, laughing while throwing my hands in the air!)
Sorry for the crappy colouring – a combination of using bad technology from 10 years ago and having said scanning done at Wal-Mart on the cheap. I gotta find our originals to re-scan them someday!

I like being among the people who come to my branch for English language classes, the retirees who sit and read the newspaper, the rowdy kids who are killing time before they go home, and moms of young children reading their tots Ezra Jack Keats. My library is rarely quiet. I like it that way. It crackles with life.
I like the way my library crackles with life too! 😉
I sometimes think the only reason we have kids is to teach them cute tricks.
Sasha has a few – when you say “Are you cute?”, she’ll tilt her head at 90 degrees (usually), if you ask how big she is, she’ll throw both arms up over her head (usually), she can wave when prompted (usually) and now this one which is the best of them all…
I say it’s inspired by Gene Simmons of KISS but it’s probably more reminiscent of Miley Cyrus (even though lately, Sasha’s definitely been a “rock and roll all nite” type!)…
(And just for my blog readers, another version that hasn’t made the rounds on Facebook…)
