Music Monday – “Her husband, was a hard working man/Just a mile and a half from here/His head was found in a driving wheel/But his body never was found”

Hard to pick the most “pure” moment of Dolly Parton but this one is right up there – on a TV variety show, singing with her entire family, likely exactly the way she did growing up in Appalachia.

This one is far from the celebrity you know but it is so much the Appalachia that many of us who lived before the cable television era knew, on multiple levels. Her mom’s timbre wakes up things I had inadvertently buried. https://t.co/2yabdLsYWy
