Ask MetaFilter and MetaFilter are both good places to find threads about libraries since so many librarians hang out there. (I've linked to the pages for each site's entries that have been tagged with “library” but feel free to try variations such as “libraries”, “librarian”, “book”, etc.)
Here are a couple recent AskMetaFilter threads that were particularly good – “can you recommend some good books about libraries and librarians?” and “What else (besides books) can I get at the library?”
