[Edit: I just realised that “Saturday Snap” was probably never more appropriate as a title!]No, not it does not! Just that none of the other options (bright orange, glow-in-the-dark white, camouflage) appealed to daddy's highly evolved sense of fashion. Man, thinking more about it – I played rec hockey with this team for almost ten […]

Friday Fun Link – Most Difficult Sports (Oct 17, 2009)
ESPN recently did a poll of various sports scientists and other experts to rank the most difficult sports using a variety of factors – strength, flexibility, endurance, hand-eye coordination, etc. etc. In the end, boxing came out as the top sport across all categories but was followed closely by ice hockey.Which leads to my next […]
Breakdown of NHL Opening Day Rosters
An interesting graphic of how different NHL teams break down by region/country, size, weight and age. I'm not going to do the math but I'll just assume that, with 40 players for a population of a million people, Saskatchewan is still the most heavily represented jurisdiction in the NHL on a per-capita basis, both on […]
Friday Fun Link – Rudy! Rudy! (September 18, 2009)
You could pitch this as a movie but you might get told it's too unrealistic – a pint-sized hockey player who's short on stature but big on heart overcomes incredible odds to not only make the Calgary Flames but become a prolific scorer and team leader helping the Flames win the team's only Stanley Cup […]
NHL Playoffs and the Power of The Google
So a few entries ago, I once again posted my predictions for the NHL playoffs. I didn't take the time to do any analysis or anything – just posted a list of my picks using a unique style of picking teams based on a descending scale of 1) do I like the team? 2) Is […]
2009 NHL Playoff Predictions
[Edit: I'm getting a lot of hits from people searching Google for NHL playoff predictions. I don't have time to flesh out my thoughts unfortunately to make this post a bit more informative. But here's an interesting site I came across to help track your playoff predictions. You can also make a donation to help […]
Mike Ribeiro's *Insane* Shootout Goal
I missed posting yesterday but that means I get to post this today. There have been lots of great shootout goals since they brought the new rule into the NHL but usually players don't get too creative because they're still playing for points. But perhaps because the season's almost over and Dallas and Colorado are […]
Pace's First Time Tobogganing
A couple short clips that go together…
Pace's First Time Skating
I read an article this weekend which stated that YouTube gets 10 hours of new video uploaded to it…per minute! I'm proud to do my part – here are a couple different clips from Pace's first time on skates (well, bob skates anyhow) at public skating tonight. Extra funny – the person who was supposed […]
Two of Pace's Favourite New Tricks Are Climbing and Jumping…
When you combine them, you get…pro wrestling? (I think it's extra funny that he says “no, no, no” right before he jumps each time, as if he knows he shouldn't be doing it!)
