Music Monday – “Darkness falls across the land/The midnight hour is close at hand/Creatures crawl in search of blood/To terrorize your neighbourhood”

When this video debuted in 1983, I was ten years old.  I stayed up late on a Friday night to watch it with my Aunt Sandi on Good Rockin’ Tonight (which has a strange Regina connection.) I think I made it through about two minutes before I started crapping my pants and hiding my head […]

Blog Crashes Resolved?

I’m probably speaking too soon but after my blog has been crashing on a near daily basis for way too long, I finally got around to trying the obvious fix. Earlier this weekend, I disabled all my various plug-ins and have been slowly re-activating them one-by-one to see if I can figure out if there’s […]

Saturday Snap – Farewell Mosiac Stadium #riders #yqr #mosaicmoments #mosaicmemories

Everyone else is sharing their memories of Taylor Field today so I thought I’d share a few of mine… I have no memory of my first game but I have two aunts who’ve had season tickets since forever so as a kid, we’d occasionally be given their tickets and I’d get to go to a […]

Friday Fun Link – Car Pool Karaoke with Saskatoon’s New Mayor

Saskatoon’s just defeated mayor missed the Gay Pride parade during his thirteen years in the Mayor’s Chair (no matter his personal feelings, he obviously missed the memo about representing all citizens of his city.) Anyhow, I get the impression Saskatoon’s new mayor won’t miss the parade…

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – I Think My Co-Workers Decorated My Door Out of Love (Maybe?) (Dec 2007)

When I worked for Southeast Regional Library, I came in to find someone had photocopied the cover of a new library book and added it to my door as a decoration.   Hmmm…

Charlie Clark Gets Best Endorsement In Saskatchewan Election History?

It came a bit late in the day but turns out that actor/comedian, Zach Galifianakas has endorsed Charlie Clark for Mayor of Saskatoon! Turns out that the Hollywood star is actually connected to Charlie Clark as he is married to Clark’s cousin.

Chichen Itza Stairs

We didn’t get here when we were in the Mayan Riviera during our wedding in 2003 and I don’t know if we’ll have time during our upcoming trip this winter. But this would definitely be something to see (and I know one parkour freak in our family who would *love* to climb this steep pyramid!) […]

Music Monday – “Let me walk/Let me go with you/I see you alone/I see you alone.”

Heard this while listening to our satellite TV’s “Tropical” station.  (No idea if the Google Translation of some lyrics in the title of this post is accurate or not.) “Déjame Acompañarte” – Omar Enrique & Elvis Crespo

Mexican Brewery Tricks Donald Trump Supporters Into Paying For A Beer Bash in Mexico

A Mexican brewery tricked Donald Trump supporters outside one of his rallies into buying shirts that appeared to have a pro-Trump message but, when the temperature rose, would display an anti-Trump message. The brewer promised to use proceeds from the sale to fund an election party in Mexico around the time of the election.

Saturday Snap – 3D Printed Business Card Holders

My branch has recently received one of two 3D Printers that RPL is rotating through our various branches. We’ll have it until May 2017 or so but one of my staff has already caught the bug and printed a whole rainbow of business card holders for us…
