Colter Wall is a Saskatchewan musician who is getting a lot of attention lately, at least in part due to a positive mention by WWE/UFC superstar, Brock Lesnar who used a Wall song in a recent promo video as well as some of his music being included on the “Dog the Bounty Hunter” show. Wall’s first album is […]

Friday Fun Link – The Nostalgia Machine
The Nostalgia Machine will generate a playlist for the year you were born (or any other year – want to re-live your high school prom? The year you got married?)
T-15: Music Monday – “Your pipeline will spill its disease/You shut down all the research libraries” #elxn42 #canpoli
You know it’s bad for Stephen Harper when even one of Canada’s most popular bands releases a song slamming your government’s record. (and includes citations for all the facts in the video on their web site to head off criticism)… “I recently visited Montreal and I was just awash in nostalgia at what Canada was […]
100 Movie Dance Scenes Mash-Up
This amazing mash-up has been making the rounds on social media…
Music Monday – “Book flight December but I leave in May/Drugs are generic but still work the same/I get logins for Netflix from my cousin Greg/Thanks Greg!”
You know that experience when you learn a new word or buy a new vehicle or whatever and after never noticing it before, you suddenly see it everywhere? I had a recent experience except it was with a YouTube rap star. A friend of mine in the States who’s a teacher posted a pic with […]
Music Monday – “Leaving my pennies on the track/Can’t say if I’m ever coming back”
A British guy I know (in the Facebook sense of “We’ve never met but yeah, we know each other because of our common interest in Fred Eaglesmith) who works as a tour manager for various bands posted this recently. Beautiful… “Applewood Road” – Emily Barker, Amber Rubarth and Amy Speace
Music Monday – “Who muzzles the poor scientist?/Calls troubled people “terrorists”?/Who wants the courts to just say yes?/Suppresses freedom of the press?”
The “Harperman” protest song is interesting for a number of reasons: the person who wrote and sang it is a federal civil servant and is now suspended from his job for an investigation about whether he violated the Federal Government’s employee ethics agreement At issue is whether Turner violated the code of ethics that all public servants […]
Music Monday – “I know this isn’t what you planned for me/Mothers have hopes for their sons/Along with the shame/I have brought to the family/All I feel is the weight of the gun”
“Weight of a Gun” – Corb Lund Band
Music Monday – Oasis Full Concert
So cool how you can find full concerts on YouTube. Oasis will always remind me of my semester abroad in 1995 although this one’s actually from 2005…
Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Paul McCartney Concert in #yqr (Aug 14, 2013)
Two years since the best concert of my life… And of course, in this day and age, somebody appears to have uploaded the entire concert, from start to finish, to YouTube! (If I’d know that, I could’ve saved 250 clams on my ticket!) 😉
