A guy pranks his roommate by sneaking up on him everytime he tries to practice guitar and singing a Green Day lyric, no matter what song his roomie is playing (the thumbnail below gives you a clue of how far the prank goes.) Pretty funny stuff. “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” – Green Day […]

Music Monday – “Here is where I feel it/Funny how it’s/Funny how it’s here.”
Congrats to Ryan Meili on winning the SK NDP nomination to be the candidate for Saskatoon-Meewasin last night. Here’s a video I made seven (!) years ago when he was running in a different race… “Canadian Skye” – Spirit of the West
Music Monday – “What do you want your world to look like?/What do you want it to be?/Do you know that a wall has two sides?/And nobody is free?”
Less than a week until Donald Trump is President of the United States. (How surreal is that sentence?) I’m not a big “trigger warning/NSFW” guy but this video might not be for everyone. Let the resistance begin… “Make America Great Again” – Pussy Riot
The Most Anticipated New Releases of 2017
Now that 2016 is over, it’s time to look forward to what 2017 will bring. Releases.com is a site that gives the release dates of upcoming movies, video games and TV shows while also letting users rate their anticipation for various releases, create a personal calendar and more. Releases.com doesn’t feature books unfortunately but lots […]
Hip30: George Stroumboulopoulos and CBC Radio 2 Celebrate The Tragically Hip
Thirty Canadian artists playing covers of thirty Tragically Hip songs to celebrate thirty years of the Hip as part of a 4-hour radio special on the first day of the year – not a bad way to start the New Year! I hope these songs get released for purchase – maybe to benefit one of the two charities […]
Music Monday – “Tell me baby/Do you recognize me?/Well it’s been a year/It doesn’t surprise me”
As it comes to close, lots of talk about 2016 being a jinxed year – Prince & David Bowie die, Gord Downie has cancer, Brexit, Trump wins and more. There’s still a week left so who knows what else will happen but now you’ve got one of the bestselling artists of all-time (both as a […]

Radio Garden: Listen To The World
This should probably be a Friday Fun Link but it’s so cool, I wanted to share it right away. More than a streaming service, Radio Garden allows you to easily move from radio station to radio station around the world in a very intuitive, easy-to-use fashion (although Chrome has WebGL disabled by default so you’ll either […]
Music Monday – “An old man said to me, won’t see another one/And then he sang a song, The rare old mountain dew/I turned my face away/And dreamed about you”
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about getting older, life, and mortality the past year in a variety of ways – from unexpected illness (Gord Downie) and death (Prince, David Bowie) of relatively young celebrities to the death of my Aunt Verna who is my first aunt or uncle to die out of my […]
