This is simultaneously the coolest and saddest thing I’ve seen. (The zoo does that to me.) It’s also got a nice twist at the end that proves we are, without-a-doubt, evolved from apes! 😉
If I understand this correctly, a design firm set out to make 3-D models of various typefaces, one for every letter of the alphabet, using all of the letters contained within that typeface. Â Or something like that. Oooh, look – pretty!!! (via MetaFilter)
This was sent around by one of our branch heads (who said he suspects the same thing happens at his location after dark!) Pretty cool!
I’ve mentioned Quora a couple times before. It’s a community-based Q&A site built by two ex-Facebook employees that some project will be bigger than Twitter and Wikipedia. The site lets you follow different topics as well as individual questions. This approach gives you a pretty high degree of personalization and the weekly e-mail digest of […]
With this post’s title, you see how hard it is to capture a “lyric” as I usually do with Music Monday posts when the subject of the day is a Bobby McFerrin freeform vocal jazz improvisation in front of 50 000 people. Well, we made it back from Hawaii and are now suffering that weird mix of happiness and sadness that you feel when you’re glad to be home after a period of time away but also wishing your holiday never had to come to an end. I was going to try to do a list of […]
Shea and I could’ve sat and watched this exhibit at the Maui Ocean Center for hours (except Pace was rushing to the shark tanks and it’s pretty hard to argue with that!)
Molokini is one of the world’s best scuba and snorkel spots. Shea and I went out yesterday for a tour and during the trip, I asked our guide to take our picture. I expected him to just snap a quickie from the surfboard where he was sitting watching our group but instead he hopped off […]
A few shots from our trip on the infamous “Road to Hana” today. You must stop for hot-from-the-oven banana bread around the halfway mark (coincidence – I have an Aunt Sandi who’s a major fan of all things Hawaiian!): The view of a black sand beach: One of the many waterfalls along the trail (the […]
Words can’t describe how much fun Pace had boogie boarding on Kamaole Sands III beach across from our Maui condo today. I literally had to carry him out of the water to get him to leave!
