Throwback Thursday – #tbt – I’ve Always Been A Fan of The Grey Area of Copyright (circa 1990?)

The struggle was real – do you record in SP and get the maximum quality, LP for a balance of quality and quantity, or EP and get the most on the tape (I think the answer below is obvious – VHS tapes were expensive when I was in high school and making $4.50/hr at a gas station job. So I always tried to cram as much on them as I could.)

I think you could also see hints of a future librarian I would become as I include not just names of the movies I was dubbing but category and time counts! (Not shown is the database I created of all the movies I had dubbed over probably a couple dozen VHS tapes.)

Also, this is an (attempted) picture of me walking the dog at four in the morning when camping this weekend.

(He doesn’t get up often in the middle of the night but when he does at home, at least we can send him out the back door into our fenced yard instead of going for a big hike to smell every patch of grass and sign pole in the park looking for the best spot to pee!)

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – One Year Ago, I Had Shingles (June 2022)

…replaced on my roof about a year after a major hailstorm ripped through north Regina and punched machine-gun holes in most houses’ siding in our neighbourhood. (Our next door neighbours just got their siding done this week!)

In a weird way, this was perfect timing as our house had original shingles that were end-of-life so having them paid for by insurance was awesome.

And I’m not super-afraid of heights but our roof has a very steep pitch so kudos to the people who do roofing as I’d probably crap my pants up there!
