Now that Saskatchewan is in the midst of being one of the first provinces to remove basically all Covid-19 restrictions, stopping reporting Covid-19 stats except on a weekly basis and just generally pretending the pandemic is over because…reasons, I thought it’d be a nice bookend to revisit that initial press conference where Premier Moe first declared a state of emergency…
Any woman who would let me play this song as a “Last Dance” song at the end of the night during our wedding reception (to counter-point our first dance song) is okay by me.
Maybe a year ago, a coworker hooked me up with a guy who sells 50 lb bags of misshapen potatoes. And of course, when I picked up the first time, it turned out he’s a library patron I knew!
In fact, after chatting with him during my most recent pickup, I even ended up sending him some suggestions for apps that might help him manage his business – can I count that in our Reference Question stats? 😉
Anyhow, here’s the contents of the potato sack I picked up as I like to give them a quick inspection. They’re usually high quality but I like to make sure none have any major damage or rot.
With international travel still a bit uncertain (especially if you ended up having to extend your stay due to a positive test at the destination or isolate when you got home), we’ve decided to book a trip to Edmonton where we haven’t been since 2014. We leave in a week and are getting pretty excited…
So, one of my recurring dreams is that I’m swimming across the Atlantic Ocean (yeah, I know) and I’m up on the surface of the water but it’s perfectly clear so I can see a massive amount of fish, sharks, whales and all sorts of other aquatic creatures below me.
When the dream recurs, it’s not usually nightmare-level scary but occasionally I get tired out and start sinking>. Or one of the creatures starts swimming up towards the surface and that’s a bit scary.
Luckily nothing in this recurring dream ever happens like this or I’d never sleep again!
