Wine Choices

This chart has nothing to do with the Leafs avoiding the sweep and the Oilers looking like they might have a blow-out shutout (SHUT-OUT!) win tonight.

Saskatchewan’s Best Scenic Drives (Revised Edition)

I was working in book publishing when this book was first released so glad to hear that an updated and revised edition is being released.

Music Monday – “We’ve come so far and we’ve reached so high/And we’ve looked each day and night in the eye/And we’re still so young and we hope for more/But remember this…”

Howard Donald (55) is the oldest member of Take That who performed as a trio at the Coronation Concert yet with his shaggy haircut and grey beard, he is the one I resemble the most.

Hell, even their slow-mo dance steps are a far cry from their energetic boy band routines in the mid-1990s in the UK.  (And why do I know so much about Take That anyhow?  Well, when I was on exchange to the UK in 1995, I stayed in a dorm on a floor with 12 women and one other guy.  You do the math on how much Take That I was exposed to!) 🙂

Never Forget” – Take That

Secular Sunday – “Indiana public librarians forced to remove half the books in the teen section as demanded by unelected library board including a pro-book banning pastor”

Just as we watched drug poisonings and Narcan training spread across American libraries before becoming more common in Canada, I suspect religiously-motivated book banning requests (and religious board members being even more activist in trying to direct library’s directions, not just individual books) is the next thing American libraries will export to Canada. Saturday Snap – “Sasha’s, Not Yours”

As she gains more independence, we’ve occasionally been letting Sasha walk to the nearby convenience store to use her allowance money to buy a treat.

Apparently that independence also extends to letting everyone in the family know exactly who bought the unique Warheads-flavoured soda!

Friday Fun Link – Top 10 Wrestlers Getting Others To Break Character

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – “I Am *Not* Napping IN Here!” (May 2013)

I feel like posting this picture online is enough to get a call to the authorities! 😉

Lilly drug slows Alzheimer’s progression by 35 per cent in trial

As with cancer drugs and other research breakthroughs that sound promising, there are lots of times that exciting results come to nothing.

But it still boggles my mind at how amazing science is to make those advances in the first place.

My grandma was never diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/dementia but had many signs of it near the end.

As science progresses, every generation has better meds and treatments and knowledge – I can only imagine what my kids will get to experience!

Music Monday – “You can’t jump a jet plane like you can a freight train/So, I’d best be on my way in the early morning rain”

Early Morning Rain” – Gordon Lightfoot (RIP 1938 – 2023
