Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Snorkelling in Hawaii (January 2012)
So glad the tour guide on this snorkeling tour didn’t actually need a bribe to make sure he didn’t drop our water camera when he swam underneath us to take this unique photo! 😉
Saturday Snaps – #Rivalry Series #yqr #GoCanadaGo #CanadianWomenKickButt
Had tickets to the Rivalry Series game between the Canadian and American women’s national teams on Friday night and it was a great game and an even better experience. I hadn’t been following it but when I looked it up, I was surprised to see the Americans had won the first three in a row […]
Alabama public library system mistakenly flags children’s book as ‘sexually explicit’ because author’s last name is Gay
You can’t make this stuff up.
Secular Sunday – Least Religious Countries Are…

Music Monday – “Well, I’ve been selling my soul/Working all day/Overtime hours/For bullshit pay”
This song went mega-viral recently, becoming the first song to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard charts by an artist with no other previous charting songs. There was controversy about the writers’ intentions and politics, up to and including it even being played during a GOP debate! “Rich Men North of Richmond” – Oliver […]
Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Bellagio Fountains (March 2009)
May have told this story before but my parents won a trip for two to Las Vegas and it happened to coincide with a week that Shea and I had booked off. So after a bit of chaos to get Pace (two going on three) a rush passport, we booked and ended up going along. […]
Secular Sunday – “Indiana public librarians forced to remove half the books in the teen section as demanded by unelected library board including a pro-book banning pastor”
Just as we watched drug poisonings and Narcan training spread across American libraries before becoming more common in Canada, I suspect religiously-motivated book banning requests (and religious board members being even more activist in trying to direct library’s directions, not just individual books) is the next thing American libraries will export to Canada.
