Pace is really into skateboarding now so it was interesting to come across this picture from when he was five which is probably the first time he ever tried out a skateboard. This was taken in the backyard of one of Shea’s friends whose husband is also really into skateboarding and other extreme sports.
Quite often, to pick out a Throwback Thursday picture, I’ll look through my photo library to the same month but a few years back (I have photos going back to 2006 when we got our first digital camera and a few that had been digitized when we got film developed before that. So I can […]
After spending a lot of time this week with Shea’s cousin’s husband who’s an RCMP officer and a member of the Musical Ride, I thought it was important to note what this side of the family gets up to! 😉
Ryan Meili announced today that he will once again run for the leadership of the Saskatchewan NDP. He ran in 2009 and essentially came out of nowhere to finish second, taking 45% of the final vote. His slogan was “Our Future Together”. He ran again in 2013 and lost by less than a single percentage […]
About a year and a half ago, my credit card got compromised. I don’t think I blogged about it but I posted this on Facebook at the time in response to a post by someone else who said their card got compromised: I just had my first encounter with credit card fraud too. Early the […]
I’m at the Saskatchewan Library Association Conference in Waskesiu right now. For instance, I came across this picture and thought it was a nice “full circle” picture – a shot from February 2010 […]
Good news for library supporters across Saskatchewan today as Premier Brad Wall has asked Education Minister Don Morgan to review the cuts to libraries that were announced in the budget a month ago! Nothing is guaranteed from this review of course and libraries could end up with anything from a full restoration of funding, partial […]
Sometimes I wonder why I keep this blog up, basically every day, for over ten years. Looking through some old blog posts recently, I realised that librarians are natural archivists and that’s part of the reason. For example, looking for something else, I realised that I’d posted the responses I got prior to the 2007 Saskatchewan […]
For Throwback Thursday, I’m posting an article I found in the Spring 2010 issue of the Saskatchewan Library Trustees Association newsletter – a happier time only seven short years ago when the province’s ten library systems joined together to form SILS, a province-wide public library consortium that was the culmination of decades of inter-provincial cooperation between […]
