Managed to pop over to see a bit of Sasha’s year-end track and field meet during my lunch hour today. My folks were in so they were also able to swing by then even got to give Sasha a ride home after. Great day!

Biggest Challenge: “We’re a small city with a relatively big stadium.”
Yes. This is quite the challenge we face here in our little prairie city that’s run by people who want to pretend we’re a much bigger city like Calgary or Edmonton or Winnipeg so they push to build giant state-of-the art arenas. And ball stadiums. And the best football stadium in the country while showing […]
Wine Choices
This chart has nothing to do with the Leafs avoiding the sweep and the Oilers looking like they might have a blow-out shutout (SHUT-OUT!) win tonight.
Why The Flames Sucked This Year (It’s A Long List)
Now that the playoffs have started and the Flames, who were predicted to be a top team at the start of the season, missed making the playoffs in the final week of the season. That means they end up in their traditional “absolutely middle of the pack” position they usually get in years they suck, […]
Music Monday – “Clicking sticks three times/Drawing ‘er back to your own line/Top shelf and we’re up by one/Ringing ‘em off the crossbars/Moving our nets for the cars/And all together we’d yell ‘Game on!’/And then our folks would call us in/And we all agreed ‘Next goal wins'”
“More Than A Game” – Mike Plume Band I didn’t put a lot of thought into this (well, except picking whoever was against the Oilers and Leafs!) but here’s my picks for this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs…
Throwback Thursday – #tbt – The Greatest Saskatoon Blade of All-Time (March 2015)
Sasha and I got to meet Wendel Clark at “Hometown Hockey” in Regina back in 2015. (Even had a funny exchange with a hero from my childhood.) Kinda funny that his junior numbers weren’t amazing (he’s no Connor Bedard, that’s for sure!) but I suspect it was actually his PIM which helped him go first […]
Connor Bedard Is Having An All-Time Season
This article is from mid-March but it’s still amazing how dominant Connor Bedard has been and what a privilege it’s been that he’s playing in Regina so I’ve been able to see him play a few times. Draft-eligible seasons: • McDavid (47GP) – 44G, 120PTS• Bedard (47GP) – 59G, 123PTS He’s 7 months younger. He […]
Saturday Snap – The Real Stars of the @WHLPats Game
Went to the Regina Pats’ final home game of the regular season last night: Thanks to @TaigaBP for donating their Concourse level tickets to a silent auction fundraiser for @CarmichaelOR. Very excited to see @connorbedard97’s final regular season game for @WHLPats!#yqr#RhymesWithNumberOne(Overall) pic.twitter.com/2hm3PndNAk — Jason Hammond (@headtale) March 26, 2023 Connor Bedard gets the bulk of […]
Friday Fun Link – The New Slogan Is Working! AEW Is Coming To The City That Rhymes With Fun
Okay, I’m pretty sure the dates announces for the Canadian Tour predates the “Experience Regina” rebrand. But who cares because I’ve got tickets and am going! Plus it’s apparently going to be a TV taping, possibly for a brand new AEW show. As a teaser, here’s some highlights from an amazing match AEW showed on […]
