Pace writes his name for the first time, originally uploaded by headtale. This post has nothing to do with censorship but everything with the power of the written word. Even though we’re a librarian and a public heath nurse with a special interest in early childhood development, I’d say we’ve been fairly typical in terms […]

Saturday Snap – The Best Part of Shaving The Winter Beard…
The Best Part of Shaving The Winter Beard, originally uploaded by headtale. …is getting to carve out all manner of redneck, yokel and classic facial hair styles as you whittle it down to “clean-shaven.” (For the record, Regina is still fricken freezing – made worse by a thaw the other week that’s turned Regina into […]
Saturday Snap – RSO at RPL
Believe it or not, RPL offers ~5000 programs a year. This was one of the best (and most successful) I’ve been to, popping down during my lunch hour last week:
Saturday Snap – Noche Latina
Went to the first annual Noche Latina fundraiser for Jaime Garcia, NDP candidate in Regina-Coronation Park tonight and it was a total blast – great music, awesome entertainment and unbelievable food, all shared with old and new friends! (Shea’s highlight was the coconut shrimp ceviche, mine was the homemade Mexican chocolate ice cream – my […]
Saturday Snap – Kid’s Eye View of Regina Airport
Kid’s Eye View of Regina Airport, originally uploaded by headtale. Pace loves taking photos so I occasionally hand him the iPhone and let him at it. Always interesting to see what he decides to take pictures of and the perspective he brings. We took my parents to the airport on Friday afternoon so this is […]
Saturday Snap – The Nerd Is Strong With This One
Saturday Snap – 1988 Computer Specs, originally uploaded by headtale. My mom was cleaning out some papers at home and found the original spec sheet/packing slip for the first computer our family ever bought in 1988 which is when I was in grade nine. It doesn’t have the actual price mom and dad paid but […]
Saturday Snap – Hipstamatic Tinker Toy Frame
Hipstamatic Tinker Toy Frame, originally uploaded by headtale. Technically, not done with the popular Hipstamatic iPhone app but another camera app that’s just added a bunch of filters. Still cool to know what Pace would look like if he’d had his photo taken in the 70’s! (Er, I think Polaroids still exist so maybe that’s […]
Saturday Snap – Just Say Santa
Just to finish off Atheism Week, a Christmas Story… Like so many kids, I was a total believer in Santa Claus when I was a kid – unlike my experiences at church, not one aspect of the story rang false – probably because I so strongly *wanted* to believe. Magic sacks that could hold enough […]
Saturday Snap – Ninja Bowling?
It’s hard to see but this is a clip of Pace playing a bowling game on the Kinect. (Of course, from his actions, you’d think the game was a Mortal Kombat!)
