(Belated) Saturday Snap – Disappointed I Didn’t Win The Canada Day Contest This Year

I can’t find a reference to it on my blog which is sort of surprising since I’ll take any validation I can get! But anyhow, last year, the campground we have a seasonal site had a Canada Day decorating contest and since we were new and wanted to make a good impression, we went all […]

(Belated) Throwback Thursday – #tbt – That’s A Switch! (April 2008)

Pace used his saved up birthday/Christmas/babysitting money to buy himself a $500 Nintendo Switch the other day – a long ways from when he was a year old and having fun on the $50 desktop computer I bought from Southeast Regional Library after they decommissioned it.

Ten Things I’m Thinking About Lately

Hand dryers and noise pollution (especially in libraries) How we’re always saying goodbye to people we love without realising it. (h/t to JB on FB) How come Photos on my Macbook stopped showing recently uploaded photos a month ago even though I can see all my latest photos when I log in to Photos through […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – First & Last Day of School (September 2018/June 2019)

The last day of school is the perfect day for Throwback Thursday. I love how Sasha’s face changes from resignation and uncertainty in the first picture to utter joy and relief in the second. (And even Pace’s near-teenaged face has a hint of smile to it today compared to September as well!) 🙂

Music Monday – “Mama said “she’s my brothers daughter” and I don’t even know who’s my father/I guess she’s my cousin but she needs some sweet lovin’ anyway!”

When did I get into banjo music?!? Isn’t it music for inbred rednecks? 😉 “Banjo Odyssey” – The Dead South from Regina, Saskatchewan (who took some criticism for playing with those banjo/inbreeder stereotypes and issued an explanation in response)

Regina Northeast Community Association Family Fair & BBQ

I got to spend a few hours this afternoon at the annual summer fair of one of the community associations my library serves. There’d been a forecast of rain but the day turned out to be beautiful and I it was great fun to spend time with a bunch of my regular patrons, meet a […]

Saturday Snap – This Is The Picture My Wife Sends Me While I’m Being #SaturdayLibrarian

The rest of the family gets a trip to the museum and ice cream; I get to talk to people about chemtrails, flat earth theories, and how Disney hides secret messages in their movies, all while being #SaturdayLibrarian. 😉

Happy Father’s Day! (Or is it Happy Twins Day?)

Some people use DNA tests to confirm their ancestry but the only thing I need to do to confirm my father and I are definitely related is to show up to a family event wearing the same clothes as my dad!  Isn’t fashion sense genetically inherited??? 😉 All joking aside, Happy Father’s Day to the […]

The Best Part of the Blues Winning the Stanley Cup Tonight…

…is that I *finally* won the family hockey pool that a BC cousin has been running through regular season and playoffs for, what, ten years? You’d think that with twenty chances, I might have lucked into a win at least once, especially considering that probably more than half the entries are random picks by septuagenarian […]
