I have no idea why my blog is being cited five times…

…but I'll probably order a copy to find out.

As someone in the comments points out, it's a great marketing strategy for a new book on library blogs – mention as many library-related blogs as possible in your book then list them in your index.  Put a sample of that index online making it likely that people will find out about your book and have their curiosity piqued.

  1. I've been undecided on that. Sure I'm curious to see how my blog was cited (also 5 times) and the topic does sound interesting, but I'm also cheap. :-p

  2. Hahaha! Only a librarian would think to make a book of library blogs; it's a similar idea to those late 90s catalogs of the internet. Oh gosh, so confused. I'm confident it's purpose is related to those weird inlinks you get in your referrer logs on any webpage too, hoping to somehow drive traffic back to the source.

  3. Ah, twenty bucks isn't much (okay probably over thirty once you factor in the exchange and shipping). Plus it is an interesting topic. If you decide not to buy, I can send you the citations if you want.
