The First Celebrity COVID Death?

I would never have guessed that Joe Diffie would be the first celebrity COVID death (well, if a tier B 1990’s country singer counts as a celebrity but I liked quite a few of his songs back in the day so why not?)

And if this helps even one Red Stater stay home, his death won’t be in vain.

No, I won’t post “Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die)” (though if you write a song like that, you know it’s going to be connected to every memorial article that comes out!

I always like this one though…

Unfortunately, the news alert about Diffie’s death was followed by the news that a much more influential, long-lasting artist was also in critical condition because of COVID.

Most people have a “First Dance” song at their weddings.  Shea and I did too but we also had a “Last Dance” song at the end of the night courtesy of Mr. Prine…
