Saturday Snap – A Day in the Life

I was off on Friday and had a busy day… 5am  – Charlie wakes us up.  Years ago, 5am used to be the time I went to bed but not anymore! 6am  – watch “Stutz” on Netflix with Shea.  Wonder if therapy is easier or harder if you’re rich and famous. 8am – drive Pace […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Dancing in the Rain (August 2012)

Music Monday – Dogs, Dead Icons, & Halloween Classics

Delayed posting Music Monday until Tuesday due to something fairly significant I might write more about later but that has infuriated me. Anyhow, lots of possible themes for a Music Monday post so let’s hit them all… Got A New Dog… Jerry Lee Lewis dies (obligatory “He was problematic to say the least and yes, […]

Happy Halloween!

I’ve had this pic on my desktop since the late summer.  I’d saved it as “HalloweenPostGiantBat.jpg”. But now that Halloween’s here, disappointed (but probably not surprised) to learn it’s a hoax (or at least an exaggeration.) Saturday Snap – I’m On A Boat!

Had a really enjoyable time on Grandpa’s pontoon boat for a few hours on Saturday afternoon…

Music Monday – “I was thinking ’bout you crossing Southern Alberta/Canola fields at harvest time/Looked like tumbleweeds all raked up into rows/Brown rusty contour lines”

“Canola Fields” – James McMurtry

Saturday Snap – But With Training Wheels?

With this bike parade happening in Weyburn, I can’t help but think that some of these kids will likely grow up to join flag-festooned convoys of a different type when they’re older… 🙂

Friday Fun Link – Happy Canada Day?

I accidentally ripped this decoration off a kid’s bike during a Bike Parade for Canada Day at Nickle Lake when my father-in-law and I were trying to work around it to help him get his chain back on. But I feel like this photo may be a metaphor for Canada in some ways too…

Saturday Snap – Bubble Gum Bay?

Our campground asks for volunteers to look after the various flowerbeds scattered throughout the park each summer. A couple campers created an amazingly creative and colourful “bubblegum” themed design at the entrance to the Dorsch Bay area of the park. I snapped the picture below as I went by and didn’t even realise I’d caught […]
