Music Monday – Living Colour/Extreme Double Bill at Casino Regina

Instead of a single video, I’ll post a couple samples from two of my favourite bands from high school/early college years that are playing a double-bill at Casino Regina tonight, an offering enticing enough to get me to leave the house on a Monday night *and* stay up past my bedtime! Living Colour probably influenced […]

Back From Camping…

…and lots of amazing moments and memories: * Great visit with Shea’s cousin and family who are back from New Zealand for a month * About ten books on my “To Read During Camping” list.  (One book, not even on my list, is all I get read – thought I do work through a 377 […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Gone Camping (July 2020)

Blogging will be very limited for the next few weeks as I focus on the important things in life such as reading, walking the dog, barbecuing hot dogs and other such pursuits.

Music Monday – “And if I weren’t a flatland boy, I’d say I have a hill/A hill that I will die upon if the climb don’t get me killed/If there were such heights around here for a guy to lay his pride/Maybe I’d rest before I died if I weren’t a flatland boy”

I’m old enough to remember using purple gas on our farm. “Purple Gas” – Zach Bryan and Noeline Hofman

Saturday Snap – Dog Watches Sunset While Camping

Peaceful.

Music Monday – “The ice caps are melting but the skies are still blue/There’s oil in the water I got them revelation blues/I ain’t no believer but I can’t deny the truth/The end times are coming I got them revelation blues”

“Revelation Blues” – Zachary Lucky

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Fair Haired at the Fair (June 2013)

We loved that a traveling fair used to set-up in the parking lot of a mall near our house every June since it was cheaper, less busy and more convenient than Regina’s main exhibition and fair in August not to mention a great way to celebrate the end of the school year.

Saturday Snap – I Don’t Always Drive A Minivan…

…but when I do, I use it to transport a full-sized fridge!  (And who am I kidding?  I do always drive a minivan.)

Secular Sunday – Politics and Religion Shouldn’t Mix

Saturday Snap – Jorts!

Nothing makes the camping season official like me wearing jorts for the first time!  (This year, we even were able to get into our seasonal site one week earlier than usual due to the lack of snow over the winter and the park crew being ahead of schedule with annual maintenance – yay!)
