Saturday Snap – Sasha’s Birthday Sleepover

Booked Sweet Dreamz Slumber, a local company that sets up tents with lights, banners, serving trays outside the tent, a ceiling light show device and more for Sasha’s 10th birthday party sleepover. Was cool to have them arrive one-by-one and go downstairs to hear things like: “Oh. My. God.”, “This is AMAZING!”, “So cool”.

Friday Fun Link – Everything About Grain Bins (Farmers Are Geniuses)

Spring feels like it’s (almost) here. Even though I haven’t been directly involved in farming for years, like many in Saskatchewan, I start thinking about seeding at this time of year. Here’s an interesting video but unfortunately he doesn’t cover survival strategies if your dad makes you shovel out a grain bin on a super […]

Secular Sunday – He/Him Is Risen

It is absolutely [chef’s kiss.gif] that this writer for Briarpatch chooses to announce they are trans, their name is now Alex, and they are using he/him pronouns while using #HeIsRisen as a hashtag on Easter Sunday. Long time Birrellheads may have noticed that my byline has changed. This is because I'm trans! I'm using he/him […]

Saturday Snap – The Real Stars of the @WHLPats Game

Went to the Regina Pats’ final home game of the regular season last night: Thanks to @TaigaBP for donating their Concourse level tickets to a silent auction fundraiser for @CarmichaelOR. Comedians on Censorship and PC/Cancel Culture

Music Monday – “Experience Regina” (Well, It Was An Experience To Be in Regina This Weekend Anyhow!)

“Experience Regina” Parody (Watch It To See Some of Regina’s “Highlights”) You may have heard that Tourism Regina recently rebranded. It started with a teaser clip and message on social media at the start of March: It’s All Happening… Let’s push the narrative; the same old is boring. Our city is changing, and that means […]

Did You Know My Post Yesterday, Words and Graphic, Was Fully Generated By Artificial Intelligence?

Okay, I had to put the prompt into Chat GPT4 and copy it into my WordPress dashboard and press “Publish” and I also told a program to generate a picture of a humanistic robot typing. But beyond that? Every word of yesterday’s post was generated by artificial intelligence after I told it: “write a blog […]

Covid Is Not “Over” (And It Never Will Be) But…

…there are signs that, for myself personally, it’s in a different phase compared to the heights of masking/social distancing/rapid testing that have been much of my (and society’s) approach for the past three years. * I mostly mask when in crowds and/or as a sign of respect and understanding if I’m interacting with someone who’s […]

Saturday Snap – “Do you need a campaign volunteer who has helped candidates win at least 10% of the campaigns he’s worked on?”

Chief Cadmus Delorme of Cowessess First Nation is one of, if not the most, high profile Indigenous leaders in Saskatchewan for his work in business, child welfare and much more.  (Unfortunately, part of his high profile, including an interview for CBS’s “60 Minutes” show, is for very tragic reasons.) Above is a pic of myself and […]
