A video I made a couple years back which has a Father’s Day theme…
“Pier 21” – John Wort Hannam
Five years ago on my dad’s 65th birthday, I posted a list of some of the many reasons I loved him – fond memories, funny memories, ways he’s helped me grow into the person I’ve become.
It was probably the most personal thing I’ve ever posted to this blog. And since dad turned 70 this year, I thought Father’s Day would be a great time to re-visit that list.
Love you very much dad!

But yeah, Go England!)

In my never-ending quest to have a theme for each day of the week that eliminates the need to put actual thought into my daily blog posts, I’m going to try out the Throwback Thursday theme that’s so popular on Twitter and Facebook these days. And as an extra bonus, I don’t even have to think of something to write – I can just find an old photo! 😉
Let’s start off with one of the oldest photos I have scanned into digital format on my computer – a shot of Shea and I at West Edmonton Mall in 2000. We must’ve enjoyed the trip – less than a year later, we were living in Calgary!
Here are a few things that caught my eye this past week…
So the next time you’re considering a purchase, ask yourself these questions: (1) Do I really need it? (2) How often will I use it? (3) How much will it impact my daily enjoyment of life?
Shea’s and my current favourite show, “Orange Is The New Black” just had its second season released on Netflix this weekend.
Unlike traditional broadcast TV shows, viewers the option to watch all new episodes on their own time including, if you choose, the day of their release in a single binge watch session.
After a couple days of release, Shea and I are up to Episode 5, having watched a couple episodes a night after the kids went to bed.
Shea got invited to Pace’s school for a Volunteer Appreciation Tea for some work she’d done to help out with Pace’s class this year while she was on maternity leave. She took Sasha to the tea and it was a pleasant surprise that Pace’s class was also the one chosen to entertain the volunteers. Sasha was especially excited to see her brother! 😉
