Mosaic Stadium Tour

Had a great “Behind The Scenes” tour of Regina’s Mosaic Stadium tonight, courtesy of the alumni association for Luther College at the University of Regina and Luther High School. We weren’t allowed into the Riders’ locker room (only the Visitors’ locker room) but we did get to take a family photo in front of the […]

Happy Father’s Day!

I didn’t think to get a picture with all the dads who were around our camp site this weekend but did get separate pictures of Shea’s parents (including her dad) and my parents (including my dad *and* me) so we’ll count that as a worthwhile Father’s Day post!

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Ferris Wheel Smile (June 2013)

It’s become a bit of a family tradition to take the kid (and now “kids”) to a small parking lot fair that sets up every June at the Northgate Mall, close to our house, instead of the bigger, busier, more expensive Queen City Ex later in the summer. Here’s a pic from when Pace was […]

Thanks Aunt Sandi!

Our annual visit from my Aunt Sandi, who stays with us for a few weeks around Pace’s birthday each year, is over for another year. It was another great visit with lots of laughs, great conversations, delicious meals and we even survived having windows installed in our guest room while Sandi was here. See you next […]

Saturday Snap – The Kids Celebrating Their Heritage at #Mosaicyqr

Should’ve called it “The Escape Castle“? What I imagine a Scottish princess would say… And of course, haggis!

Friday Fun Link – @officialRPL Mother’s Day Video

This RPL Mother’s Day video is great! It makes me excited for RPL Father’s Day video next month where various dads who work for the system try not to get emotional while reading passages from “Fight Club” to our children. 😉   Just kidding – this video is great and I know I can’t get […]

Music Monday – “Just make your friends/While you’re still young/Before you can’t see through/Anyone.”

“Trick Rider” – Gord Downie

Music Monday – “There are things that make me dad/You seem to be all of them.”

I used this song for a montage when Pace turned six but really think of it as “Sasha’s song” since it was the first song I sang to her in the delivery room after she was born. Pace’s first song was more planned – I knew I wanted to play him John Lennon’s “Beautiful Boy” […]

Five Years Ago…

On April 12, 2013, we took a series of family photos knowing that Shea was due in a few weeks. Four days later, Sasha arrived. (Tomorrow’s her actual birthday but we celebrated it today which is why I’m posting this one day early.)

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – #JerseysForHumboldt (February 2009) #HumboldtStrong #JerseyDay

Today, I wore the same jersey today that I’ve worn for years but for a less happy reason than skating with my son nearly a decade ago…
