Music Monday – “Will you recognize me?/Call my name or walk on by/Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling/Down, down, down, down”

Haven’t posted for a few weeks – busy at work, busy at home, camping holidays, some weird blog gremlins that make quick posts a bit harder than they used to be – but wanted to post to let my thousands dozens of readers know I’m still alive and more regular posting will likely resume…eventually.  😉 […]

Music Monday – “If you should ever leave me/Though life would still go on believe me/The world could show nothing to me/So what good would living do me”

“God Only Knows” (Isolated Vocals) – Beach Boys (RIP Brian Wilson)

Music Monday – “When we woke up that morning we had no way of knowing/That in a matter of hours we’d change the way we were going/Where would I be now, where would I be now if we’d never met?/Would I be singing this song to someone else instead?”

“Something Changed” – Pulp

Music Monday – “Why don’t you ever want to play?/I’m tired of this piece of string/You sleep as much as I do now/And you don’t eat much of anything”

The best song trilogy of all-time? (I think there’s a reason that cats are the spirit animal of librarians!)

Music Monday – “We don’t get fooled again/Don’t get fooled again, no, no/Yeah/Meet the new boss/Same as the old boss

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” – The Who

Music Monday – “Body and beats/I stain my sheets/I don’t even know why/My girlfriend, she’s at the end/She is starting to cry.”

“Blister in the Sun” – The Violent Femmes

Music Monday – “Until Sally, I was never happy/I needed so much more/Rain clouds, oh, they used to chase me/Down they would pour/Join my tears/Allay my fears”

“Sally Cinnamon” – Stone Roses

Music Monday – “My beautiful and beloved Mexico/Should I die far from you/Let them say I’m asleep and/Bring me back to you”

I know Cinco de Mayo is more of a holiday to sell beer in the US & Canada than anything important in Mexico.  But this song about Mexican independence (September 16) is the one I’m posting today anyhow… “Mexico Lindo y Querido” – Vincente Fernandez

Music Monday – “It’s a working man I am/And I’ve been down under ground/And I swear to God if l ever see the sun Or for any length of time I can hold it in my mind/I never again will go down under ground”

Decided to go to Regina’s “Day of Mourning” event at City Hall this year. Twenty-seven people died workplace-related deaths last year and this was the first year I knew one of them which makes the whole thing a lot more real. This was a song they played at the end of the ceremony. “Working Man” […]

Music Monday – “These are finest times of my life/This is the greatest time of my life This is the greatest time of my life/These are the biggest times of my life”

A colleague sent me this song I’d never heard before and, true story, it hit me just right so I ended up tearing up in my cubicle.  (That may have been the intention?) “Bill Is Dead” – The Fall
