Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Keeping Them in Stitches (September 2013)

Pace ran into a tree and had to get stitches then, nearly a decade before Covid, used Skype to video chat with Grandpa and Grandma to show the war wounds…

Friday Fun Link – “Is This Real Life?”

Pace had four wisdom teeth removed early on Friday morning.  When he got home, I was reminded of this clip – one of the original viral videos of the YouTube age:

Sunset (or Sunrise?)

My last post was August 21 when I said I was going to try to get back to (roughly) daily blog posts after a summer of holidays and other distractions. Then I promptly didn’t post again for nearly two more weeks until today. Lots I could write, lots of navel-gazing about why I (still) have […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – 20 Years of Seasonal Camping (2003-2023)

Back from our most recent camping stretch but bittersweet as my inlaws decided to pull the pin after twenty years of seasonal camping. (This has been coming for awhile but still tough that the moment finally arrived.) So much of our week away was watching as they listed (and sold) their camper, packed up everything […]

I’m Still Alive!

No, Shea didn’t finally get tired of being married to me and drown me. We’ve been camping for much of July (in a campground that has really crappy LTE service that, on balance, I find to be a good thing – though Sasha managing to sneak the password for the $80/month wifi the neighbours pay […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Sea Urgency (January 2012)

“Sea Urgency” instead of “Sea Urchin” is a malapropism that Sasha coined in Mexico but it applies for this picture taken during a snorkeling excursion in Hawaii in January 2012 long before she was born…

Saturday Snap – Rainbow Backyard

Seems fitting that a rainbow would appear to be landing in our newly landscaped backyard, both because it’s Pride Month but also as a reminder of all the good fortune that Shea and I enjoy in our lives.

Saturday Snap – Charlie Echo

Sasha did a “photo shoot” with Charlie the other day and I was pretty impressed with the results…

Saturday Snap – “Get A Dog” They Said, “It’ll Be Fun” They Said.

Also, this is an (attempted) picture of me walking the dog at four in the morning when camping this weekend. (He doesn’t get up often in the middle of the night but when he does at home, at least we can send him out the back door into our fenced yard instead of going for […]

Track and Field Day

Managed to pop over to see a bit of Sasha’s year-end track and field meet during my lunch hour today.  My folks were in so they were also able to swing by then even got to give Sasha a ride home after. Great day!
