I mean, when a margarita from a bar in a casino costs you $20 (plus tip!) and you can buy a canned margarita or beer that’s bigger than your head for $4.99 and drink it openly on the Strip since it’s legal to do so, (not to mention buying basic groceries, snacks, pop, souvenirs, etc. etc.) you can see why drug stores on the Las Vegas Strip are making a killing.
Believe it or not, the Mirage wanted $18USD for a SINGLE BOTTLE OF WATER IN OUR HOTEL ROOM (I didn’t take a picture as it was on the counter and not even *in* the fridge cold!) For that price, we could’ve bought THREE flats for that price at the Walgreens across the street! And sure, getting even a single flat back would’ve been a challenge because of the weight but I’d be willing to do it to save that much money!
Hell, we were even thinking that if we could’ve found a drug store with one in stock, we were willing to buy a basic coffee maker for $25 or a kettle for $10 since we didn’t even get a coffee maker in our room, if we asked for one, the hotel would’ve charged us for it, and coffees from the Starbucks or cafe downstairs were $5 each minimum. (We did end up buying some pre-made coffee drinks and having them on ice in the morning sometimes instead of buying overpriced coffees.)
