FTRW 2009 – Music Monday – "You May Take Offense/To A Word Like Fuck or Shit (DICK!)" (Feb 23, 2009)

This was a popular song when I was in undergrad around the time that Nobel Peace Prize winner, Al Gore's wife, Tipper was contributing to greenhouse gases by shooting off a lot of hot air about obscene lyrics in popular music.

Thanks to Wikipedia, I now know that Anthrax released two versions of their album – one with lyrics censored and one without.  Sort of ironic for an album that contains the anti-censorship tirade you can listen to below.  (It probably goes without saying that you might not want to listen to this in your cubicle with your speakers turned on…unless you work at the George Carlin Memorial Library or something.)

Unfortunately no one has been creative enough to make a good video clip to go with this song on YouTube.  So you get a black screen with the Anthrax logo for the length of the song – which I guess is also somewhat appropriate when you're listening to a song about censorship.
