- Hudson’s Bay Company selling orange shirts.
- Provincial governments such as Saskatchewan who don’t declare it a holiday (even as some cities within those provinces do).
- Catholic schools putting the Christian cross on their orange shirts.
- Businesses, organizations & people that don’t buy their orange shirts from Indigenous companies.
- Our federal government and its representatives continuing to treat Indigenous people poorly in so many ways, big and small.
- All federal government workers get a day off, lots of Indigenous workers don’t.
- Like so many other “special” days/weeks, the feeling that a lot of people/orgs will be very performative for one day then jerks the rest of the year.
- White dudes (and dudettes) who make lists like this instead of amplifying the voices of people who know better.
