In bad news, today had a dose of freezing rain/melty snow that made my recent decision to stop wearing winter clothes, no matter what the weather was doing, quite foolish.
In good news, after getting home, drying off, and eating supper, I got to have a nice conversation with a young man in the Philippines about his life, the house he’s building for his family, the places he’s traveled in the world all while trying to troubleshoot our non-working cable box. That conversation (forty minutes on hold, twenty minute conversation after being promised a “10 minute wait” by Bell’s automated system) led to this tip: “At some point, it’s on the man upstairs and I can’t tell him to stop it snowing in Saskatchewan in winter. But we can pray he makes it sunny and the ice on your satellite melts away tomorrow!”
(God works in mysterious ways and the satellite came back up about twenty minutes ago after being frozen – literally – for a couple hours tonight.)
