Lots of fun stuff happening during Grey Cup week in Regina as you might imagine.
Here’s a few things I’ve come across…
- This montage of fan-submitted Grey Cup-related photos is pretty cool (and hypnotic!)
- Cool (literally!) weather advisory from Environment Canada from Environment Canada
- A local radio station is asking people to party like it’s 1989 (the last time the Rider met the TiCats in the Grey Cup.)
- A RiderFans.com meet-up made the news (and was later described by a site regular as “the biggest gathering of virgins in Saskatchewan’s history”)
- Still with the nerdy stuff, author Art Slade made this observation on Facebook:
This weekend at the PureSpec convention there was lots of cosplay (that’s costume play) where people dressed up as steampunk characters. I suddenly realized that the Grey Cup will be total cosplay. 44000 people dressing up in green/as their favourite players. Some even dress up as clowns. In that light the Grey Cup game will be the biggest cosplay event ever in Saskatchewan.
- This fan-made parody of the popular novelty song…
- Or this video by the denizens of a popular local pub (which pretty much sums up what I think most of Regina is sounding like this week – loud, drunk guys screaming at you!)
