As I mentioned yesterday in my random thoughts about the McCartney concert post, one of the things I learned in advance of the show is that McCartney often picks out someone holding a sign in the front rows and brings them on stage to meet them or accept the gift they’ve brought or whatever.
Regina was no exception as he pointed out a sign a young woman was holding early in the show that said “Sign My Tattoo” and then, later in the show, brought her out so he could indeed do just that (what wasn’t mentioned from the stage – at least as far as I can remember – was that the tattoo she wanted signed was the words “Let It Be” tattoo on her forearm.
The story of how she had tried to get a similar signature at seven other concerts and then finally got it in her hometown plus a late night call to a local parlour for an “emergency tattoo” before Sir Paul’s signature could rub off is awesome!
I don’t have any tattoos and doubt I’ll ever get any. But if I had McCartney sign one of my body parts, I’m pretty sure I’d happily turn it into a tattoo as well!
(I love how at the end of this video you can hear her say “Thanks for coming to Regina!” I think she spoke on behalf of about 40,000 people with those words!)
