Lots of April Fool’s jokes across the Internet today as usual.
One of the funniest is that /r/radiohead has temporarily changed their sub-reddit to be like /r/coldplay, playing up the “rivalry” between fans of these two well-known UK bands with Radiohead seen as groundbreaking and original while Coldplay is seen by many as mainstream, unoriginal (copying much from Radiohead) and pandering.
Some of the (sarcastic) posts from the Radiohead sub-Reddit today…
- Why does Radiohead keep copying Coldplay’s style
- Coldplay has won more than twice the amount of Grammys as Radiohead, so they’re obviously more than twice as good.
- Long time Thom Yorke friend Michael Stipe, ditched him to play with the one and only Chris Martin instead for the concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. I totally understand the decision
- Probably the main reason why Radiohead fails so much. They do not have Rihanna on any of their songs
Plus this hilarious mash-up of a Coldplay encore with a heavy metal song…
