…is to come up with ideas that are the “first of a kind”.
Last time, it was the idea for the Money Bomb (see #3 on the linked list) which was the first ever in Canadian politics.
This time, it was putting forward the idea for a Reddit AMA which was the first ever by a Saskatchewan politician.
Of course, given that I put forward about ten shitty ideas for every good one that gets used, I can’t be too smug! (“Buy A Meili-Branded Stethoscope, Get A Free Meili-Logo Tongue Depressor” Promo anyone? “Get Smiley with Meili” Digital Photo Contest? “Miles with Meili” Interactive Google Earth Map? “Give $2 and Vote For Me in the Morning” Money Bomb”?)
Even a million monkeys on a million typewriters will punch out Hamlet and Henry IV eventually! 😉
[Edit: A Meili 2.0 team member has reminded me that he brought forward the idea of a Reddit AMA way back in August while we were brainstorming social media ideas. I told him I’ve been thinking about having Ryan do an AMA since the moment I heard Ryan was running again but didn’t have documentation to prove it like he does. So we’ve agreed to share credit – though he’s asked to remain anonymous so that’s kinda hard to do! 😉 And now I feel pressure to come up with some another ground-breaking “first”. Hmm, maybe “Miles with Meili” needs revisited?]
