Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Safety First? (May 2013)

Pace wanted to wear a helmet to be safe one of the first times he cut the grass in our old house but apparently, the open-toed sandals weren’t on either of our radars as a potential safety issue!

Wisdom Wednesday – Top 50 Worst Corporate Jargon Phrases (Top Five)

NGL, I lose a tiny bit of respect for people when I hear them use these phrases.  (Of course, I also lose a tiny bit of respect for 50-year old English majors who use emoji speak abbreviations like “NGL”!) 😉

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – I Don’t Think I Told Him To Grow A Beard But He Did Anyhow! (October 2017)

Seven years ago, the mother of a young patron at the branch I was working at asked if her son could meet with me to learn more about being a librarian. We set a date to meet, had a great conversation and I thought that was the end of it.

So I was surprised when they were recently able to track me down and ask for another meeting. Turns out that young man is now in Grade 11, thinking more seriously about his future career options and that meeting had stuck with him!

We had another visit, I gave him and his mom a bit of insight into the current state of the profession and he even got to witness a real live library incident (“Uhm, have you thought about academic libraries by any chance?”) 😉

Anyhow, a nice way to end my Friday last week!

My 2024 Stanley Cup Predictions (of the moment)

I suspect this would change pretty much every time I do it.  So many good teams this year and always possibilities for upsets (Go Kings!), one of the Canadian teams to bring the Cup home finally (Go Jets!) and Cinderella runs (Go Isles!)
