Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Standing In The Light (and a list of ways I’m the tightest man alive) (Dec 2011)

Looking for an old picture to feature for this week’s Throwback Thursday, I came across one of me standing in my in-laws’ kitchen in December 2011.  What jumped out wasn’t that I didn’t have a terrible 90s-style goatee (which is my current look but also a Throwback Thursday in a way). Instead, it was that […]

Saturday Snap – Dancing at Rory Allen

Fun night with my mom and dad at Rory Allen’s Christmas show last night…

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – For Weddings and a Funeral (August 2008)

Hard to believe that fifteen years ago we were at Shea’s cousin’s wedding and took this photo of three girls (also cousins) she’d basically raised from babies with our baby. Sadly, the last time we would see the sister on the left was at the sister on the right’s wedding earlier this summer.  She was […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – First Rapid Tests (March 2021)

We were lucky that Shea is a nurse as we got early access to rapid tests before they were widely distributed to the general public. No way to know for sure but I feel like that was part of why we may have been able to avoid Covid as long as we did – anytime […]

Secular Sunday – Gone Way Too Soon

I’ve written a lot about the many many reasons I don’t believe in God. But one of the biggest is that no matter how many “God works in mysterious ways” or “He does things to test us” excuses I hear, I can’t reconcile a merciful god that would take some of the best, most amazing, […]

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Pace’s First Birthday (May 2008)

Music Monday – “Through the years, I’ve never been afraid/I’ve loved the life we’ve made/And I’m so glad I stayed right here with you/Through the years”

Happy 52nd Anniversary to my parents! 52 isn’t a big milestone so instead of a plane right and fancy supper out like we did for their 50th a couple years ago, they spent the day seeing a specialist, playing cards with the grandkids and eating takeout Greek food. I also didn’t make a video montage […]

Exercised My #skpoli #ParentalRights Today…

…to encourage my daughter to become a kind, empathetic, supportive human being. (Too bad the parents of many of the current Sask Party MLAs didn’t share similar lessons with their kids before they became regressive, reactive bullies.)

Throwback Thursday – #tbt – Mom’s Lifetime SUN Membership Acceptance Speech (sometime in 2013)

I was so proud of my mom getting her lifetime membership in the Sask Union of Nurses ten years ago.  Great speech and you can see where I got a lot of my personal values about supporting workers and treating others with empathy and respect.
