Saturday Snap – The World’s Most Boring Privacy Violation

It’s just come out that the iPhone creates a secret file on user’s computers without their knowledge or permission which has a record of their geo-location information.  Unsurprisingly, this has privacy advocates up in arms.

Jessamyn West wrote about this and linked to a small app you can download which can help you visualize what this secret file reveals about you.

I tried this with my own iPhone and realised…I’m pretty boring.  Not sure why our Vancouver trip from last year didn’t show up (Cuba didn’t show up for obvious reasons) but maybe it only keeps data for a set period of time?  But anyhow, this was the total extent of how my privacy has been violated:
